Especially in a way it concerned about the mobile pastoral lifestyle in Mongolia. The growing mining is a problem for the pastoral lifestyle and nomadic lifestock husbandry, which is considered to be a sustainable husbandry that is less harmful and less costly than intensive, agrarian husbandry in a time of global warming. However, yeah, a few better-off would benefit from this increasing mining industry in Mongolia pushing the majority into the poverty, especially when the government is not able to control or its policy is being exploited. This eventually has lots of benefits for Chinese as Mongolia is the cheap natural resources to exploit.
This story is rather sounded like mining stories of a tragic local/native community in US, Latin America and Africa than the gold rush happened once upon a time in the west.
